The suburb is also serviced by buses 25B, 25L, 64, and OUT, on routes 230 and 9b. The suburb is only 16 minutes and 47 minutes (by foot) away from Kingsland and Newmarket train stations.

Balmoral has a well-developed education system with several schools. St Peter and Paul’s is a mixed Catholic primary school, located at 33 Alexandra Street. Balmoral State High School is a government secondary (7-12) school for boys and girls at the corner of Thynne Road and Lytton Road. Balmoral has great public transport and makes it easy for school kids to commute.
The suburb has good healthcare facilities, including Balmoral Bush Nursing Centre, Wimmera Health Care Group, and Western District Health Service, among other healthcare and medical facilities.
